About

Bryan Schaaf is a professional with a diverse background in interdisciplinary health efforts. As an undergraduate at Ohio University, Bryan made his first foray into health and well-being by volunteering at a crisis hotline and providing psychosocial support to survivors. Later he joined the Peace Corps and traveled to Haiti, where a lack of formally trained healthcare workers inspired him to focus his efforts on public health. He went on to collaborate with community groups and NGOs to create ambulance services, improve a local clinic, and offer treatment options for virus infections.

Eventually Bryan and a team of likeminded individuals formed Haiti Innovation, which he still runs to this day. He also joined Capitol Hill Rotary Club and finally Dupont Circle Rotary Club, where he served a term as President.

Bryan Schaaf has enjoyed great success working for the State Department, having served as overseer of the health portfolio for the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration. During his time with the State Department, Bryan helped to coordinate and improve upon health policies in place and create new policies as well. This position required Bryan Schaaf to work closely with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as the United States Agency for International Development. His work has taken him all over the world, and Bryan feels fortunate to have had the opportunities he’s been given in his career to interact with different cultures and provide aid where he can.
